ORLANDO – UCF placed 261 student-athletes on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, announced by the league Thursday.
The American's All-Academic Team for 2021-22 features 46 members of the Knights' rowing squad, 37 from the track and field and cross country roster, 36 members of the football roster, 29 from baseball, 22 each from softball and women's soccer, 12 each from men's soccer and women's basketball, 14 from volleyball, nine from men's golf, six each from women's tennis and men's tennis, five each from men's basketball and women's golf.
In May, UCF student-athletes extended their record-setting streak in the classroom to 29 consecutive semesters with a department grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
In addition to the 29 consecutive semesters of a 3.0 GPA, UCF student-athletes also posted their 11th straight semester of a 3.2 GPA or better as a department.
UCF has posted a department-wide GPA of 3.3 or better seven times in the last eight years. The Knights have not turned in a semester below a 3.2 since the spring of 2016. The top nine marks in school history have come over the last 10 semesters as the Knights continued to win championships in their field of competition.
To be eligible for the AAC All-Academic team, student-athletes must have competed in a conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 for the preceding academic year and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters of academic work.
