Mike Cassano joined the UCF football program as the Director of High School Relations in 2016.
First getting his start in the coaching profession at his alma mater, Cassano worked as a defensive graduate assistant while helping the secondary at Lehigh from June 1994-May 1995. Cassano moved to the Great Lakes State where he was a defensive graduate assistant and safeties coach for Eastern Michigan for the 1995 and 1996 seasons.
In 1997, Cassano guided the running backs at Brown University before spening the 1998-03 campaigns as the running backs coach at UMass-Amherst. That stint was highlighted by the 1998 Division I-AA National Championship.
Cassano headed south to Miami to be an offensive assistant with the running backs as well as an offensive graduate assistant from 2004-06. He stayed in South Florida from 2007-09 where he was the FIU running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. Cassano returned to Miami to be the running backs coach for the 2010 campaign, a season in which the Hurricanes were they ranked No. 30 in the FBS with 182.5 rushing yards a game.
In 2013, Cassano served as Georgia Tech's assistant director of player personnel, and from January 2014-July 2015, was the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for UMass. That 2014 season, the Minutemen ranked No. 11 in the FBS in passing.
Cassano received his bachelor's degree in physical education pedagogy from New Hampshire in 1994.
