GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team turned in another dominant performance in Gainesville, improving marks in almost every event at the Tom Jones Memorial at the Percy Beard Track on Friday.
 
 The Knights started the day strong in the field events, turning in PRs in the discus, pole vault, long jump and hammer throw.
 
UCF took two of the top three spots in the hammer throw. On her last attempt of the finals, Jhane' Carter's throw landed at 189-10/57.86m, giving her second place with a new personal record. Gabby Durant finished third with a distance of 186-4/56.79m. Carter also used in a season-best throw of 49-1.5/14.97m to finish fourth in the shot put, while Durant posted a personal-best 42-11/13.08m in the event.
 
Shanell Atkins used a personal-best distance of 122-8/37.39m to join Courtney Morgan (129-5/39.46m) in the top 15 in the discus.
 
In the pole vault, Anna Chamness set a new personal record, clearing 12-3.5/3.75m to finish fifth. Madison Bryan joined Chamness in the top 10, clearing 11-3.75/.345m.
 
Natosha Jordan collected a pair of PRs in two events on Friday, starting with the long jump. Not only was the 17-10.75 distance Jordan's best mark, it was the best mark by a Knight this season. She added a second PR in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles. Teammate Aria Tate also posted an improved mark in the hurdles, crossing in 14.59.
 
Crystal Tejeda dropped her time in the 800-meter run, finishing fourth in 2:13.15 for a new season best. She was joined in the top 20 by Shiree Hinds, who finished 16th in 2:22.63.

A pair of Knights used personal-best performances to post top 10 finishes in the 1500-meter run. Marissa Codispodi ran a personal best 4:40.09 to finish eighth. Beth Williams followed closely, finishing ninth in 4:43.81. Victoria Jung was right on her heels, using a personal-best time of 4:43.86 to finish 10th.
 
Three Knights improved their times in the 100-meter dash, led by Shaniya Williams, who finished 14th with a time of 11.61. Sarah Wollaston crossed the line in 12.06, and Ashley Nelson finished in 12.78.
 
Following Rosie Chamberlain's season-best time of 55.59 in the 400-meter dash, Venida Fagan turned in a personal-best mark of 56.23 in the event. Both Jessica Dolan (10:40.20) and Laura Korsmit (11:06.63) competed in their first 3,000-meter run of the season, collecting top 15 finishes.
 
Five Knights improved their marks in the 200-meter dash. Loren Gallmon finished in the top 25 with a time of 24.30. Sarah Wollaston (24.55), Aria Tate (25.35), Asia Gonzalez (26.09) and Ashley Nelson (26.17) turned in personal best times to finish in the top 45.
 
Daneesha Davidson landed at 38-6/11.73, setting a new personal best in the triple jump to finish sixth. Briana Potter joined her in the top 10, finishing ninth with a distance of 38-0.25/11.59m.
 
UCF's 4x400 relay squad of Venida Fagan, Ebony Crear, Crystal Tejeda and Rosie Chamberlain won their heat with a time of 3:46.18, the second-fastest mark from the Knights this season.
 
The Knights continue action next weekend, heading to Auburn for the two-day War Eagle Invitational April 20-21.
