ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The daily update on the Knights for Wednesday, Aug. 15. Only one day away until this year's Countdown to Kickoff Luncheon, and only three days away until the annual UCF Football FanFest.

News

-Wednesday's practice is on tap for 6:30-8:30 p.m., but may start early.

-On Tuesday, UCF went with just shoulder pads instead of full pads, and the best interceptions of the day came at the hands of linebacker D.J. Williams and Cody Ralston.

-A strong storm rolled through near the end of practice, forcing the Knights to hold their final few segments inside Nicholson Fieldhouse.

-Late Tuesday night, sophomore Rannell Hall was selected to the Jet Award Watch List, which honors the best return specialist in college football. The award is in its second year and is named after Heisman Trophy winner Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers. The winner will be chosen by a vote of the selection committee in December. There were a total of 29 players on the watch list.

Stat of the Day

-Entering its final season in Conference USA, UCF carries seven-game winning streaks over Memphis and Marshall. The Knights play both schools on the road this year.

What to Look For

-Following Thursday's luncheon at the UCF Arena, the Black and Gold is set to hold practice from 3:15-5:30 p.m.

-The fall semester on campus will kick off on Monday, Aug. 20.
