Alex “Bear” Farah joined UCF football ahead of the 2025 season. Prior to joining the Knights, he was the offensive line coach at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for two seasons in 2023-24, leading an offensive line unit with six All-Conference selections, and two All-Region selections. Farah helped the Crusaders reach the quarterfinals of the 2024 NCAA Playoffs.
Farah joined UMHB after serving as the offensive line coach/recruiting coordinator at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, where he coached First Team All-American and FCS Offensive Lineman of the Year Mark Evans II.
During the 2021 spring and fall seasons, Farah served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Independence Community College in Kansas. In his first season as offensive coordinator, the pirates averaged 41.4 points per game, 508 offensive yards per game, 266 passing yards per game, and 241 rushing yards per game. During the 2021 fall season, ICC earned its first top three ranking in school history, while averaging 38.4 points per game. Farah successfully developed multiple junior college athletes to go on to Power 4 programs including Brock Domann (QB, Louisville), Tavion Thomas (RB, Utah), James Neal (OT, Iowa State).
Prior to leading the Pirate offense, Farah spent the 2019 season as the run game coordinator/offensive line coach at Hutchinson Community College. During the 2019 season the Blue Dragons reached their first No. 1 Ranking in school history. Under Farah's leadership the offensive line paved the way for 246.3 yards rushing per game and 44 rushing touchdowns. In his one season in Hutchinson, Farah produced four All-Conference offensive lineman including First Team All-American Jazston Turnetine.
Farah earned his first full-time offensive Line job as the offensive line coach/run game coordinator at Glenville State College in 2018. Prior to his time in Glenville, Farah held the title of Offensive Line Graduate Assistant at Texas State University in 2017.
Farah is a graduate of Appalachian State University where he started as a defensive student assistant before earning the offensive line graduate assistant position.
A native of Matthews, North Carolina. Farah and his wife Gabby have two sons, Dietrich and Boone.
