Diarmuid Christie ’23 joined the UCF sports medicine department in 2020. He primarily works with the football team.
Before arriving in Orlando, Christie worked for Purdue’s sports medicine department from 2018-20. He provided care for a variety of teams including football, track & field, swimming and diving, soccer, softball, tennis and cheer. He also gained experience as a graduate assistant working with the Recreation and Wellness club sport athletes.
An Ireland native, Christie served as the head athletic therapist for the Newton Blues GAA Club (Gaelic Football) in 2018 before coming stateside.
Christie earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic therapy and training from Dublin City University in Ireland before going on to obtain his master’s degree in health and kinesiology from Purdue University. He later earned his second master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies (kinesiology and higher education) from UCF in 2023.
