- Switched jersey number from No. 33 to No. 3 in the offseason.
2019 at FIU
- Played in all 13 games for the Panthers as a sophomore, with most action coming on special teams
- Earned 32 yards on eight carries over the course of the year
- Earned a season-high 14 yards against Charlotte (10/12).

- Appeared in two games at running back
- Peterson recorded 11 carries for 41 yards during the season
- Had a season-high 10 carries in a win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9/29).

- Ranked the 98th best outside linebacker in the country and the 213th best prospect in the state of Florida
