• Penn State at Croke Park Classic 8/30: DiNovo became the first UCF freshman quarterback since 2010 (Jeff Godfrey) to start a game, and the first since 1996 (Daunte Culpepper) to start a season-opener

• Lettered three years while serving as a three-year captain and the team's offensive MVP his final three seasons

• Ranked as the No. 66 quarterback (pocket passer) in the nation by ESPN
• Selected to the 2012 class 8A all-state first team and the all-county first team
• Participated in the 2012 Florida Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star Game
• Tampa Bay Times 2012 Suncoast Player of the Year and All-Pinellas Offensive Player of the Year
• Left holding the Pinellas County career passing records with 6,733 yards and 59 touchdowns, breaking Shaun King's previous record of 5,736 yards
• Set the county's single-season passing record with 2,980 yards in 2012, while he also threw for 25 touchdowns
• In the 2012 regional finals against nationally-ranked Dr. Phillips, threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns, highlighted by completing his first 15 passes of the game on the first two drives
• Picked up 2011 first-team all-county and third-team all-state status thanks to more than 2,300 passing yards and 24 touchdowns
• Also as a junior, was the MVP in the National Underclassmen Combine and the Big County Preps Combine, and was the quarterback for the 7-on-7 Team Tampa national championship squad
• Threw for 20 touchdowns as well during his sophomore campaign
• Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was a youth volunteer in high school
• Chose UCF over Cornell, Duke, Florida State, Indiana, Marshall, Minnesota, NC State, Northwestern, Purdue and USF
