REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE SEASON (2012):
-Saw playing time in seven games against Akron, ECU, Marshall, SMU, UAB, in the C-USA Championship and in the Beef [apos]O[apos] Brady[apos]s Bowl
-Went 2-for-4 with 25 yards and a touchdown
-At Akron 8/30: In his first collegiate game, completed his first pass for a 12 yard touchdown to Rob Calabrese
-At Marshall 10/27: Completed his only pass attempt for 13 yards
PRIOR TO UCF:
-An impressive quarterback who transferred into the UCF program after beginning his collegiate career at the University of Missouri
-Sat out the 2011 season, and redshirted the 2010 campaign
-Turned heads during his lone year with the MU program leading the show team against one of the Big 12[apos]s top defenses
-Won the team[apos]s offensive back-up player of the week award for his work the week leading up to Mizzou[apos]s win over San Diego State
HIGH SCHOOL:
-Joined the MU program in January of 2010 after graduating early from Parkway West High School, coached in football by Jeff Duncan
-Out of high school was ranked by Scout.com as the nation[apos]s No. 12 overall quarterback prospect
-Ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 8 overall prospect in the state of Missouri, while bringing in the No. 17 pro-style quarterback ranking nationally
-Threw for 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior in 2009, while adding two scores and 225 yards on the ground
-Won second-team all-conference honors in each of his last two seasons
-As a junior in 2008, compiled over 1,900 passing yards to go with 18 touchdowns in the air, while he tallied 700 passing yards and six scores as a sophomore
-Was also an outstanding baseball player who hit .370 as a second baseman
-Originally selected Missouri over Nebraska, Iowa, Wake Forest, Oregon and Kansas, among many others
PERSONAL:
-Son of Chuck and Beverly Gabbert
-Brother, Blaine, is the starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he was a 2011 first-round draft pick (No. 10 overall)
