-Earned All-C-USA Honorable Mention accolades
-Started all 12 games as a defensive tackle and recorded 29 tackles (18 solo) with 5.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and seven passes broken up
-Charleston Southern 9/3: Recorded two tackles (two solo)
-Boston College 9/10: Recorded four tackles (two solo), one TFL, and one PBU
-At FIU 9/17: Had three tackles (one solo) with one TFL and one sack
-At BYU 9/23: Added two tackles (one solo) with 1.5 TFL, one PBU, and one QBH
-Marshall 10/8: Recorded five tackles (five solo) with four QBH
-At SMU 10/15: Posted two tackles (two solo)
-At UAB 10/20: Recorded three tackles (one solo) with 0.5 TFL, 0.5 sacks, and one FF

-At Southern Miss 11/12: Set a UCF record for a defensive lineman with four pass break-ups, which also was one shy of the overall single-game record

-Conference USA All-Freshman Team
-Appeared in all 14 games with 11 starts at DT and finished the season with 33 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, four quarterback hurries, and five pass break-ups
-NC State 9/11: Recorded five solo tackles with two TFL and two PBU[apos]s
-At Kansas State 9/25: Recorded five tackles with one TFL and two PBU[apos]s
-At Marshall 10/13: Recorded three tackles with 1.5 TFL
-Rice 10/23: Recorded one tackle, one sack, one PBU and recovered a fumble
-ECU 10/30: Recorded four tackles (three solo) and two QBH

TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON (2009):
-Was a member of the scout team at practice.
HIGH SCHOOL:
-Played for coach Dale Salapa at Dr. Phillips High School
-Named first-team All-Central Florida and all-conference
-Made 110 tackles as a senior with eight sacks, three interceptions, two blocked kicks and a pair of fumble recoveries
-Team captain
-Was also a team captain in basketball and was ranked fifth in the state in rebounding
-Won an academic excellence award in mathematics
