SENIOR SEASON (2009): First year playing on defense after playing his whole life at quarterback...Made eight starts, including the St. Petersburg Bowl, while playing in 11 total games...Helped the Knights lead C-USA in total, scoring and rushing defense...Became a potent player on defense ranking eighth on the team with 45 total tackles, 29 of which were solos...Had his career high vs. Buffalo (Sept. 19) with eight tackles in his first career start...Forced a fumble in UCF[apos]s upset win over No. 13 Houston (Nov. 14) and had two break-ups at Texas (Nov. 7).
JUNIOR SEASON (2008): Led the team in passer efficiency (101.37) and completion percentage (48.6), and was third on the team in rushing yards (218) ... Got his first career start vs. South Carolina State (Aug. 30), completing 9-of-16 passes for 90 yards, and had 57 yards rushing as well ... Against USF (Sep. 6), went 17-of-32 for 150 yards, and brought UCF back in style completing two touchdown passes in the game[apos]s final two minutes ... Also had 51 yards rushing vs. the Bulls ... Completed 50 percent of his passes on the way to a 92-yard passing day vs. Boston College (Sept. 20) and added 54 yards rushing with a score ... Went 4-for-8 for 94 yards vs SMU (Oct. 4) including two touchdown passes, one of which was a long 56-yard beauty to Brian Watters ... Added 20 yards rushing in the win over the Mustangs ... Completed 9-of-21 attempts for 142 yards vs. East Carolina (Nov. 2) along with one touchdown pass.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2007): Made UCF debut vs. Memphis (Sept. 22) and completed his first seven passes, finishing 11-of-12 for 151 yards ... Led the Knights to a touchdown on first four possessions he was under center ... Scored first-career rushing touchdown in the second quarter on a 10-yard scamper and added another 10-yard scoring run later in the quarter ... Completed the Memphis contest with 10 carries for 77 yards ... Against Louisiana (Sept. 29), went under center for one drive in the third quarter and then for all of the fourth quarter, finishing 2-of-4 with 13 yards in the win ... Saw time at East Carolina (Oct. 6), going 0-of-2 while rushing for 30 yards on three carries ... Went 6-of-16 with 71 yards at USF (Oct. 13) ... Came on as the quarterback on UCF[apos]s final drive in the win over Tulsa (Oct. 20) ... Was 0-of-1 with 12 yards rushing in a win over Marshall (Nov. 3) ... Completed 1-of-2 passes for 13 yards at UAB (Nov. 10), while also rushing for 24 yards on two carries in the win ... Had a 3-of-7 affair for 49 yards at SMU (Nov. 17), including a 38-yard completion to Sidney Haynes ... Completed his only pass attempt vs. UTEP (Nov. 24), picking up six yards on the play ... The Miners were the last team he saw action against during his initial campaign with the Knights.
PRIOR TO UCF: Lettered four seasons as a quarterback at Cardinal Gibbons High School for coach Michael Morrill before enrolling at North Carolina State as a true freshman in 2005 ... Earned Most Improved Quarterback and Best Offensive Newcomer at the NC State Spring Game in 2006 ... Transferred to Pearl River Community College (Poplarville, Miss.) for the 2006 season and played in three games before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign ... Had amassed 612 yards and four touchdowns on 53-of-86 attempts prior to the injury ... Ranked as the 98th best junior college prospect in the nation by Rivals.com. HIGH SCHOOL: As a prep, played in Broward-Dade All-Star Game and North-South All-Star Game ... Passed for 397 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another 186 yards and one touchdown his senior season ... Registered 820 passing yards and 350 rushing yards, combining for 11 touchdowns as a junior ... Rated as the No. 31 quarterback nationally by Scout.com and the 60th best player in the state of Florida by Rivals.com coming out of high school ...Also recruited by Oklahoma, Southern Miss and USF.
