Neil Hitchen is in his first season as the offensive graduate assistant for the football team. Hitchen spent the spring of 2007 with the Louisiana Tech football program before joining the staff at UCF.
Prior to his stint with the Bulldogs, Hitchen served as a graduate assistant at Colorado State from 2005-06. From 2003-04, he was the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Rhode Island.
Hitchen was the defensive coordinator at Endicott College in 2002 and the linebackers coach at Bowdoin College in 2001.
The Portsmouth, R.I., native began his coaching career at Salve Regina College in 2000 where he spent the season coaching the linebackers.
Hitchen played collegiately for Assumption (Mass.) College from 1993-97. A four-year letterwinner for the Division II school, Hitchen was the special teams captain his senior season.
He earned his bachelor of arts degree in History and minored in English.
