UCF head softball coach Renee Luers-Gillispie announced the signing of five future Knights to National Letters of Intent on Monday. The signing class consists of Lena Springer, Kaleigh Singleton, Linnea Goodman, Brittany Solis and Andrea Neswiacheny.

The new student-athletes will join the UCF Softball program prior to the 2014 campaign.

"We're very excited about this 2013 class," Luers-Gillispie said. "As a coaching staff we have taken great lengths to turn this program into one that's able to recruit anywhere in the country. You look at this group and they are from California, Connecticut, Texas and Florida. We have become coast-to-coast with our recruiting and that's very exciting for the future of UCF softball."

Kaleigh Singleton, C
Cedar Ridge HS
Texas Blaze

"Kaleigh comes from one of the top travel ball organizations in Texas, the Texas Blaze. She's a great addition to our program because she's a natural catcher. We have had to move players to catcher in the past but it's fantastic to have someone coming in with lots of catching experience."

Brittany Solis, IF
Chaminade High School

"Brittany is a versatile infielder that we think can play all over the diamond. She got a lot of experience playing travel ball for The Corona Angels and was a good enough athlete that she was getting scholarship offers to play Division I soccer."

Linnea Goodman, OF
Millikan High School
Lakewood Firecrackers

"Linnea is an incredible, explosive athlete out of California. Her combination of speed and range makes her a natural fit in centerfield. She's a lefty slapper out from the Lakewood Firecrackers travel team and we think she's going to be a plus defensive player and base runner."

Andrea Neswiacheny,  IF
Bishop John Snyder High School
Florida Storm

Andrea's another quality middle infielder. She's our only recruit from Florida this year and she's out of Jacksonville and the Florida Storm travel team. We have had a lot of success getting players from the Jacksonville area like Kacie Feaster and Madeline Schroeder and we're excited to continue that tradition."

UCF is returning 10 upperclassmen from last season's squad and welcomes 13 freshmen for the 2013 season. The Knights open their season Feb. 8, 2013 at the Sportco Kick-Off Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. and opens their home schedule Feb. 13 at the UCF Softball Complex against North Florida.
