Knights Making Gains in Weight Room
The official start of the college basketball season is just two days away, and some key numbers show that the Knights will enter their preseason practices in excellent shape. Nearly every player on the team has posted positive weight gains under the direction of strength and conditioning coach Ben O'Donnell.
Here is a look at some success stories:
Rod Days has gained around 20 pounds since joining the program last summer and now weighs 220 pounds
Keith Clanton, who weighed 230 pounds as a freshman in 2009, is up to 250 pounds
Isaiah Sykes weighed 200 pounds when beginning his freshman campaign in 2010, and has gained 15 pounds since that fall
After beginning his sophomore year at Oklahoma last season weighing 198 pounds, Calvin Newell now weighs in at 210 pounds
Every member of the freshman class has gained between 8-10 pounds since enrolling at UCF in June
