Top 25 Polls Released - Rannell Hall Gets Weekly Honor
Following its 56-14 victory at Akron to open 2012, UCF football continued to receive votes in this week's top-25 polls. The Knights picked up 11 votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll to place 36th, while they totaled four votes in the Associated Press Poll to place 39th.
This week's opponent, Ohio State, jumped from No. 18 to No. 14 in the national rankings. UCF last defeated a ranked team in 2009 when it topped No. 13/12 Houston at home, 37-32.
The game vs. the Buckeyes is slated for Saturday at noon on ESPN2.
In that contest at Akron, sophomore wide receiver Rannell Hall had a career night with four receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns. That allowed the Miami native to receive College Sports Madness Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors.
As a true freshman, Hall had just four receptions all year for 34 yards and no touchdowns, but was an All-C-USA First Team selection by ranking fifth in the nation in kickoff returns.
