ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Monday, Aug. 20. The summer break has officially concluded as the 2012 fall semester begins today on campus.

News

-UCF gets back to work on the practice fields Monday with their second morning session of the preseason. The only other morning practice in August was on media day Aug. 2.

-All practices are now closed.

Stat of the Day

-During non-conference games in 2011, UCF averaged 187.8 rushing yards a game, while opponents averaged just 86.0 per contest.

What to Look For

-UCF will practice Tuesday before taking the day off Wednesday.

-On Thursday, the Knights will turn their attention heavily on their on-field preparations for its first opponent: Akron Aug. 30.
