ORLANDO – The No. 15 UCF rowing team opened its 2026 campaign with a strong showing in Friday’s Jacksonville Duel. Fresh off their most successful season in program history, the Knights earned a Big 12 Conference title as well as a 15th place team finish at the 2025 NCAA Championship. Individual boats made history in the process as well, with the First Four earning a 13th place finish, the Second Eight scoring a 14th place mark and the First Eight slotting in at the 15th position, all top finishes in school history.

UCF’s magical 2025 campaign also opened with the Jacksonville Duel. The 2026 version of the season-opening regatta saw each of UCF’s boats post a better time than the year prior. Decorated Knights from last season returned to this season’s roster to get the Black and Gold going in the first race of the season.

“It’s always great to get the season started, and even more special to do it against another Florida team. We appreciate Jacksonville for coming out and racing with us again this year, it’s an awesome chance to have our teams get the season started strong. I’m proud of the team for a good start to the year, and I’m excited for the rest of the season.”
