IOWA CITY, Iowa – The UCF rowing team closed out the regular season on Friday, racing twice at Iowa.  
 
Due to inclement weather in the area, the schedule was adjusted, moving the course to the Coralville Reservoir, but the teams were still able to line up for two sessions.
 
UCF's Varsity Eight, consisting of Lauren Roman, Emily Puia, Connery Cassidy, Tegan Fookes, Emma Leavens, Lindsey Buckreis, Kelly Brown, Martina Pischedda, Anna Kayser Gallego, opened the day with a second place finish in 6:50.02.
 
The Second Varsity Eight squad of Sophia Troia, Georgia Coyne, Annberlee Hothem, Rachel Dunford, Jillian Lawrenson, Maura Shiner, Meagan Lukavec, Tatum Cox and Martyna Wasilewska, finished a second behind No. 12 USC to place second in 6:54.82.
 
The Varsity Four, consisting of Julia Going, Saskia Papsova, Avery Bethel, Aryann Johnson and Claire Kaminski, crossed the line third in 7:46.16.
 
The Second Varsity Four boat of Mackenzie Harrod, Chiara Ciullo, Floor Hurkmans, Aubrie Russo and Emily Klysen finished second in 8:00.51.
 
The Third Varsity Eight boat of Sofia Soria, Maddie Adolfs, Callie Keel, Emma Faulkner, Izzy Kaltenbaugh, Kate Corrigan, Isabella Pinera, Cameron Bowman and Julianne Souza, rounded out the first session with a second place finish in 7:26.33.
 
The Varsity Eight opened the second session with a second-place finish, making a push down the stretch to pass Iowa and cross the line in 6:56.31. The Second Varsity Eight followed with a second-place finish in 7:01.3.

The Varsity Four again lined up against the host Hawkeyes, but this time UCF finished ahead of Iowa in the fours race. The Knights took second in 7:55.13. The Second Varsity Four finished second in 8:08.14.
 
The Third Varsity Eight closed out the day with an open water win over Minnesota in 7:27.00.
 
Next up, UCF returns to Oak Ridge, Tennessee for the 2022 American Athletic Conference Championship on May 15.
