RALEIGH, N.C. – The UCF rowing team closed out the Lake Wheeler Invite with a victory on Saturday morning.
The Third Varsity Eight, consisting of Sofia Soria, Maddie Adolfs, Callie Keel, Emma Faulkner, Izzy Kaltenbaugh, Floor Hurkmans, Isabella Pinera, Julianne Souza and Samantha Migliore, started the day off with its second victory of the weekend. The Knights won in 7:19.502, nearly three seconds ahead of Kansas.
The Second Varsity Four squad of Mackenzie Harrod, Chiara Ciullo, Meagan Lukavec, Emily Klysen and Aubrie Russo finished second, just three seconds behind Syracuse in 7:45.485.
The Varsity Four boat of Kennedy Keith, Saskia Papsova, Rachel Dunford, Claire Kaminski and Aryann Johnson finished fourth in 7:50.388.
The Second Varsity Eight squad of Sophia Troia, Georgia Coyne, Annberlee Hothem, Avery Bethel, Jillian Lawrenson, Maura Shiner, Martyna Wasilewska, Lindsey Buckreis and Tatum Cox finished third in 6:51.872.
UCF's Varsity Eight, consisting of Lauren Roman, Emily Puia, Connery Cassidy, Tegan Fookes, Emma Leavens, Charlotte Wiley, Kelly Brown, Martina Pischedda and Anna Kayser Gallego, rounded out the weekend with a third place finish in 6:44.625.
The Knights are back in action on April 29 at the Iowa Invite.
