ORLANDO – UCF carried its momentum over to Saturday, turning in a school record while picking up three event titles to close out the Knights Invite.

"This has been a great two days," UCF head coach Dana Boone said. "This team is starting to really put the pieces together. I know I say that all the time, but some breakthrough performances happened this weekend, some confidence was built this weekend and that's what we needed."

Already the freshman record holder in the 100-meter hurdles, Rayniah Jones opened UCF's track events by shattering the overall school record in the event. Jones won the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best 12.73, which is the second-fastest in the nation, to best Jackie Coward's record 12.81 mark set in 2012. Her mark was also a US Olympic Team Qualifying Time and is the top time on the American Athletic Conference all-time performance list.

The Miami native continued her dominant weekend with a second-place finish in her first 100-meter dash performance. She finished in 11.53, which is the fastest time by a Knight in the event this season.

In addition to Jones in the hurdles, UCF picked up event titles in the discus and triple jump. Adrienne Adams started the day off with a 153-4/46.75m to take the top spot in the discus. A pair of personal bests from Jacquelyn Wagner and Nicole Whitaker gave UCF a trio of Knights in the top six. Wagner finished fourth with a 138-11/42.36m and Whitaker took sixth with a 137-6/41.92m

Asherah Collins collected the triple jump title with a 41-7.75/12.69m mark. Teammate Kiara Lee also turned in a podium finish as she finished second with a 41-3.75/12.59m.

UCF placed four Knights in the top 10 of the 100-meter hurdles. Alexis Woodley posted her best mark as a Knight, taking third in 13.33. Selena Wright made her outdoor debut with a fifth-place finish in 13.60. Alicia Coleman turned in a personal best 13.94 to finish eighth.

Latasha Smith ran a collegiate best 53.88 to finish second in the 400-meter dash. She was one of four Knights in the top 10. A personal best 54.89 led Danielle Bess to fourth place; Kai'lyn Kirkland took fifth in a personal best 55.05. Samieryah Bradwell also ran a personal best 55.53 to finish seventh.

All three of UCF's 100-meter dash competitors finished in the top 10 as Jones was joined by Ani Wells, who ran an 11.87 to finish ninth, and Collins, who finished 10th in 11.88.

A pair of Knights closed out the day with top 10 finishes in the 800-meter run. Katie Pinnell posted a third-straight 2:07-mark, finishing fifth in 2:07.44. Victoria Jung dropped three seconds off her personal best to take seventh in 2:10.47.

UCF heads to the UNF Invitational April 29-30 to close out the regular season.
