UCF's 3.0 GPA Streak Extends to 26 Semesters

ORLANDO – The UCF Athletics' record-setting streak in the classroom has extended to 26 consecutive semesters with a department grade-point average of 3.0 or better this fall.

"I'm extremely proud of our student-athletes for continuing our streak of 3.0 GPA semesters." said UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White. "Even in the most challenging of times, they continue to compete in the classroom. That's what being a Knight is all about - we compete in everything we do!"

In addition to the 26 consecutive semesters of a 3.0 GPA, UCF student-athletes also posted their eighth straight semester of a 3.2 GPA or better as a department.

"Once again, our student-athletes have shown their true dedication to performing at the highest levels, both in the classroom and in their respective sports, even during these unique semesters," said Tara Helton, Associate AD for Academics. "We've used 'Charge On' as our mantra; our student-athletes and ASSA staff have kept charging on, no matter what is thrown at them. Having every team above a 3.0 is a true testament to the dedication shown by our student-athletes. We are so thankful for the continued support and commitment shown by our student-athletes, ASSA, coaches and administration."

Since White's arrival in Orlando, the Knights have not turned in a semester below a 3.0, starting at 3.01 in the spring of 2016. UCF has posted a department-wide GPA of 3.3 or better five times in the last six years. The top seven marks in school history have come over the last eight semesters as the Knights continued to win championships in their field of competition.
