ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—The UCF men's tennis team produced a 7-0 sweep of Bethune-Cookman on Sunday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.

"We played a solid match from start to finish," head coach John Roddick said. "I was very pleased with how we came out in singles with good focus after earning a tough doubles point."

The Knights opened the match by sweeping the doubles point. UCF produced victories on courts two and three to take the 1-0 lead. Kalman Boyd and Mariano Porter teamed up for a 6-4 victory on court two, while Korey Lovett and Reece Acree earned a 6-4 win on court three.

In singles, UCF earned straight-set wins on all six courts. Porter started the group off with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over David Ocampo. Danny Kerzneman followed it up with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Pablo Lopez. Chris Barrus clinched the match for the Knights with a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Greg Almeida.

Enrique Paya made his collegiate singles debut with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position. Lovett added the sixth point for the Black and Gold when he defeated Alexander Chepik 7-5, 6-1 on the top court. Boyd wrapped up the match for the team with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court three.

The Knights return to action on Feb. 17,  taking on Tennessee Tech at the USTA National Campus.
