Friday Knight Lights

Hundreds of Knights fans came out for the Friday KnightLights pep rally at Bright House Networks Stadium Friday to prepare for UCF'sfirst home football game of the season. Fans, students and cheerleaders filedinto the student section and got their game day faces ready for Saturday.

"It is wonderful," junior cheerleader Leah Moensaid. "I'm so excited for the game...They're all (fans) as excited for thegame as we are."

There was a steady downfall of rain throughout the peprally, but that didn't scare away the Knights fans. There was also a DJ set upat the very front of the student section to get the UCF faithful ready to takeon their in-state rival.

"It's going to take way more than that to keep theKnights down," UCF junior Gabriela Iglesias-Mendoza said about the weather."Stuff like this (pep rally), we love it."

Iglesias-Mendoza said she has been attending Knights gamessince her freshman year. Her friend Max Benton transferred to UCF from anotherFlorida school and will experience his first game on Saturday. Benton says he'sexcited to experience "Zombie Nation" in the student section.

"I'm stoked," said Benton. "There were abunch of students. It was awesome. It was a good turnout, a bunch of good musicand it was a fun time."
