Team Notes
THE MATCHUP
? A win for the Knights, or a loss by ECU vs. Marshall Friday at 2 p.m. on CBS Sports Network, will seal their fourth division crown in eight seasons in C-USA.
? UCF is tied atop the East Division with East Carolina as both have 6-1 league records, but the Black and Gold owns the tiebreaker thanks to a 40-20 win in Orlando Oct. 4.
? If UCF can claim the division, it will travel to Tulsa for the C-USA Championship Game Dec. 1, which would mark the first time it would be on the road for the title contest (UCF hosted the game in 2005, 2007 and 2010).
? The Knights claim a 7-2 record vs. the Blazers, but are 2-2 in the last four games including a late 26-24 loss in Birmingham in 2011.
? UCF has played more games against teams from the Yellowhammer State (22-18-1, 41 games) than any other state including Florida (31 games).
? The only win by UAB in Orlando was the 2008 regular-season finale.
? All-time vs. UAB, Brynn Harvey has 306 rushing yards and three TDs, and Kemal Ishmael has 27 tackles and an INT.
? UAB has won two of its last three games for a 3-8 overall record and a 2-5 mark in C-USA (wins over Southern Miss and Marshall).
? The Blazers are coming off a 46-9 home loss to Memphis where they had 26 rushing yards, primarily due to giving up six sacks.
? Redshirt freshman QB Austin Brown is completing 57.8 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
? Sophomore RB Darrin Reaves has 966 yards on the ground with 13 touchdowns, as well as 35 receptions for 250 yards.
? The offensive line has given up 40 sacks, while the UAB defense has registered 19 sacks and six interceptions. Senior LB Marvin Burdette has 142 tackles to rank second in the FBS.
