WEST POINT, N.Y. (UCFAthletics.com) - Freshman Christian Eissele's (Lake Mary, Fla.) first-career shot resulted in the game-winning goal as the UCF men's soccer team defeated Army, 2-1, Sunday afternoon. The one-goal win was the first road victory of the season for the Knights, improving their overall record to 4-2. Army remains winless in 2010, dropping to 0-6 with the loss.

"The players showed a lot of character to come back from being down a goal on the road," head coach Bryan Cunningham said.

UCF scored its two goals just seven minutes apart in the late stages of the second half for the come-from-behind victory. Nik Robson scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season and his second in as many games in the 71st minute. Spencer Scott collected the assist on the goal, his team-leading fourth of the year.

Yaron Bacher put a long ball up the left sideline for Spencer who cut inside to beat a defender. Spencer slipped the ball to the middle to Robson running from the midfield. Robson beat another defender and found room inside the far post from 18 yards out for the Knights' first goal.

Eissele, who entered the game late in the first half, found the back of the net for the game winner in the 78th minute on a pass from Bacher.

Bacher possessed the ball to the right of the goal at the top of the penalty box. Looking for an opening, the senior midfielder made a pass to his left for the streaking Eissele and the game winner.

The two goals by UCF erased a 1-0 deficit after Army's Ernest Whitaker put the Cadets up a goal in the 41st minute of action. The win marks the first time this season that the Knights have come back to win a game after trailing at any point.

The two second-half goals from Robson and Eissele give UCF nine this season in the final 45 minutes of play, while allowing opponents to just two.

Goalkeeper Shawn Doyle was not tested often on Sunday afternoon, facing just two shots on goal in the contest. The Knights' defense once again limited its opponents' offensive opportunities, holding Army to 12 shots with just three making their way on goal.

UCF outshot the Black Knights in the contest, 24-12, forcing Army goalkeeper Ryan Currens to make seven saves in the loss.

The Knights will end their five-game road trip on Sunday, Sept. 26 when they travel to Huntington, W.Va., to take on Marshall. The game will mark the first Conference USA game of 2010 for UCF. The team will return home on Saturday, Oct. 2 as it hosts SMU in the conference home opener at 7 p.m.
