UCF vs. Miami Recap
-An announced crowd of 2,546 came out to watch UCF battle Miami March 9, marking the second-largest attended home game in UCF history.
-UM would take advantage of early UCF errors and sprint out to a quick lead en route to its victory.
-Ronnie Richardson came through with two hits, Chris Duffy delivered home run No. 6 on the year and freshman Ryan Breen collected a double in his second-career at-bat.
Upcoming Opponent
-Hartford opened its season Wednesday when it defeated Central Connecticut State 12-11 after trailing 10-4.
-The Hawks' top three hitters in the lineup, Andrew Siano, Simon Kudernatsch and Mike Amendola, all had four hits to lead a team which posted 19 hits overall.
The Series
-Last year was the first time UCF met Hartford on the diamond, and the Knights took the series 2-1.
-The Black and Gold amassed 37 hits in the series, highlighted by Brandon Romans' two home runs.
Take On Me
-Posting at least one hit in every game except one this year, Chris Duffy is enjoying the long ball in 2010.
-The senior left fielder crushed his sixth of the season against Miami March 9 to equal his entire total from 2009. Duffy's personal-best in homers stands at eight (2007 and 2008).
-The Orlando native paces all Conference USA hitters with his six home runs.
-With 28, one more will move Duffy into a tie with Kiko Vazquez for sixth on the UCF all-time list.
He's Got the Beat
-Freshman Joe Rogers has certainly adjusted to life as the UCF closer. The Winter Haven product has sat down 15 on strikes in just 7.0 innings, posting two saves and a 1-0 record.
-Strikeouts are nothing new to Rogers, as he set the Winter Haven HS record with 20 during a no-hitter last spring.
On Pace
-With 36 doubles and 16 homers, the Knights are on pace to come close to breaking the school's single-season record in both categories. UCF is on track to hit 155 doubles (record is 160) in the 56-game regular season schedule, and 69 dingers (record is 68 set last year).
