ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF softball team held its second-annual Alumni Softball Game at the UCF Softball Complex Saturday morning, with players and fans alike enjoying a fun day at the ballpark. The 2009 softball squad took on 15 former Knights in the contest, including pitcher Allison Kime (2006-08) and assistant coach Stephanie Best (2002-05) who both played for the Rockford Thunder of the NPF this past summer.

The game consisted of five innings of fastpitch action, before the teams switched to slowpitch for the second part of the contest.

Kime, Lindsay Enders (2004-05) and Taylor Sawyer (2003-04) all saw time in the circle for the Alumni team, while Ashleigh Cole (Pace, Fla.), Magon Paul (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Diana Rojas (Miami, Fla.) threw for the 2009 squad.

Ten total members of UCF's two NCAA Regional-qualifying participated in the contest for the alumni including: Cici Alvarez (2004-07), Best, Lindsay Enders (2004-05), Nikki Green (2002-05), Kime, Amber Lamb (2004-07), Bryttani Lindheim (2004-05), Sawyer, Cat Snapp (2005-08), Ashley Van Ryn (2005-08) and Jennifer Whitley (2003-04).

Former Knight assistant coach Beth Watson served as the head coach for the Alumni squad.

The 2009 squad features 10 returners from last season's NCAA Regional-qualifying team, including All-C-USA First Team selection Breanne Javier (Castaic, Calif.) and C-USA Championship MVP Tiffany Lane (Moreno Valley, Calif.)
