LAKE MONTINCELLO, Va. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF varsity eight remained undefeated during the spring season as the Knights upset No. 7 Virginia on Saturday.
UCF's crew - which featured coxswain Katie Chapman, Caitlin Pauls, Krystina Sarff, Stephanie Pauls, Tara Rogers, Tanis Franchuk, Melissa Westhoff, Stephanie Adams and Erin Reigel - finished the varsity eight race at 6:31.86, two seconds ahead of the host Cavaliers.
Virginia earned victories in the novice eight, second novice eight and varsity four.
The Knights opened the double dual event by sweeping Duke in the four morning races. The varsity eight finished their race at 6:37.9, beating the Blue Devils by four seconds. Less than a month ago, UCF defeated Duke in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and novice eight at the Longhorn Invitational.
