Katie Chapman Season 2006-07

2006-07: Guided the nationally ranked varsity eight squad as the crew[apos]s coxswain...helped the varsity eight go undefeated in the first nine races of the season...opened the spring with victories over Iowa, Kansas State, Duke and Texas at the Longhorn Invitational...captured the event title at the Petrakis Cup...beat Duke and upset No. 7 Virginia...also earned wins over No. 14 Washington State and No. 8 UCLA at the Windermere Real Estate Classic...claimed the goal medal at the SIRA Championship...finished sixth in the grand final at the Aramark South/Central Sprints...competed for the Knights at the NCAA Championships...received national scholar-athlete recognition from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
2005-06: Served as coxswain on the varsity squad, helping guide the varsity eight to a top-20 ranking...helped the varsity eight to a fourth-place showing at the Head of the Chattahoochee...guided the varsity four to a win over Michigan...beat Syracuse in the Governor[apos]s Cup...won the varsity eight race at the Petrakis Cup...swept host Clemson and North Carolina...claimed the FIRA Championship...placed fifth in the varsity eight 'B' final at the Aramark South/Central Sprints.
Prior to UCF: Graduated from St. Francis Secondary School in 2005...was a four-year member of the rowing team...was first at the Head of the Thames in the women[apos]s lightweight eight in 2004...earned first at the Canada Cup Regatta with the Under-21 men[apos]s eight and second with the Under-21 women[apos]s eight...took fourth overall at the Royal Canadian Henley in the Under-19 women[apos]s four...earned gold at the St. Catharines Invitational Regatta in the Under-19 heavy eight and silver heavy four...coxed at the 2004 Head of the Charles...was also a four-year member of the honor roll.
