Matthew Kabay joined the UCF sports medicine team in June 2024. He is responsible primarily for the men’s basketball team.
Prior to arriving in Orlando, Kabay spent seven years working with Division I men’s basketball programs at Towson and Arkansas State universities.
Before Arkansas State, he was an intern athletic trainer at Ohio State, primarily working with football and men's tennis. He was also a preceptor to undergraduate athletic training students. He previously worked as a graduate assistant at East Stroudsburg, working primarily with women's volleyball and wrestling and assisting with track & field and women's soccer.
As an undergraduate at Waynesburg University, he worked with his alma mater and also did internships with the Minnesota Vikings and Louisiana State University.
Kabay graduated from Waynesburg in 2014, majoring in athletic training and exercise science. He earned his master’s degree in 2016 from East Stroudsburg in advanced clinical athletic training. Kabay is a BOC certified athletic trainer and is a certified strength & conditioning specialist.
