Blog: Proud of the O-Line
Many UCF fans were excited to watch the running backs thisseason because of the experience and talent the Knights had returning. InThursday night's 56-14 victory over Akron, the Knights gained 220 yards on theground.
Senior running back Latavius Murray led the way with 109yards and one touchdown. Freshman Cedric Thompson was second in rushing with 45yards and one touchdown, while sophomore Storm Johnson ran for 36 yards and twotouchdowns.
The backs were able to display many of their skills atInfoCision Stadium and much of that is because of the performance of theoffensive line.
"They blocked really well," Johnson said."It's always good to have a solid offensive line. We feed off of theirenergy and that's how we get things done."
Johnson is excited to watch the offensive line this seasonand see even more lanes created for the running backs. The Georgia nativehopes to celebrate more victories like this during the season.
"I enjoyed every minute of it," Johnson said."I soaked it up with my teammates and we congratulated everyone and we'reready for more."
Up next for the Knights will be another non-conferenceopponent from Ohio when UCF travels to Ohio State on Sept. 8.
