ORLANDO – UCF football quarterback Keyone Jenkins has earned a trio of awards following his performance against No. 2 BYU. The true senior has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, a Manning Star of the Week and Davey O’Brien Great 8.
Jenkins passed for a season-high 293 yards in the victory over the Cougars and was responsible for four touchdowns, throwing for three while rushing for another. The Opa-Locka, Fla. native added 35 yards rushing.
The Knights got the ball back via an interception down 14-10 with 1:22 to play in the second half. Needing a flawless two-minute drive to get points before the break, Jenkins stepped up, completing six passes to march down the field for an 11-play, 78-yard touchdown drive, using all but four seconds of the remaining clock. He found Landen Chambers on a wheel route to send UCF into the halftime locker room up 17-14.
Jenkins capped off UCF’s only drive of the third quarter with a one-yard touchdown run to edge UCF back in front 24-21.
Known as “Lyghtz Out,” Jenkins shone bright in overtime, completing three of his five pass attempts for two touchdowns and added a passing two-point conversion to lift UCF 39-31. The first overtime saw a one-play strike to Josh Derry as UCF tied BYU at 31-31. After a roughing the kicker call gave UCF a second chance in the second overtime, Jenkins found Grayson Brousseau for a four-yard touchdown pass. He later found Tyren Hornes on the two-point conversion try.
The four touchdowns gives Jenkins 70 for his career. He’s compiled 11 passing touchdowns and four rushing scores for the Knights this season, passing for 1,099 yards and rushing for 76.
Jenkins leads the Big 12 in completion percentage since Week 4, as his 19-for-20 passing performance in the win over TCU has led to a 70.3% completion rate since UCF’s start to conference play.
Jenkins is the first Knights quarterback to be honored as an Offensive Player of the Week in UCF’s Big 12 era. He’s the fourth to earn the nod as the best offensive player in the Big 12, joined by RJ Harvey (2023 and 2024) and Jaden Nixon (2025).
