ORLANDO – After yet another historic season on the water, the Knights also proved to be elite in the classroom as well, landing 11 on the CRCA Scholar Athlete list as announced by the coach’s association.
Representatives from UCF include coxswains Audrey Vilendrer and Vianna Smith and rowers Lucy Buckingham, Coralie Detre, Hannah Lovejoy, Cate Maloney, Sofia Scott, Julia Schultz, Sofia Naboni Nevado, Luna Kuiper and Lexi Sanchez.
Of this year’s list, four athletes appear for the second consecutive year in Audrey Vilendrer, Sofia Naboni Nevado, Hannah Lovejoy and Cate Maloney.
Each athlete on the list had to have had a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA as well as competing at least 75% of the season within an NCAA eligible boat. Six of the athletes that appear on the list competed in the Knights’ top bot at the NCAA Championship while three sat in the Second 8+ and one was in the First 4+.
