Lawrence etched his name on UCF’s career sacks list, finishing 10th all-time with 20, including seven in 2025. He snagged a pair in back-to-back contests against West Virginia and Baylor.
Earning All-Big 12 First Team honors for his standout redshirt senior campaign, Lawrence tallied a career-best 11 tackles for loss and forced two fumbles. He finished the season as one of seven players in the FBS who recorded five or more sacks over the past three seasons. His seven sacks in 2025 was one shy of setting a new career best. A dozen of his 20 sacks came over the final two seasons with UCF. He totaled 72 career tackles, 47 of which were solo and 28 for a loss. He added five pass breakups, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Lawrence shone bright at the 2026 NFL Combine, ranking top 25 all-time for his position group out of over 2,000 performances. He tallied a 4.52 40-yard dash, a 10’10” broad jump and posted a 40” vertical, all elite measurements among defensive ends.
Quarterback Blake Bortles remains the highest selected Knight in program history, going No. 3 in 2014. He’s followed by Quarterback Daunte Culpepper (11th, 1999), edge rusher Lawrence (23rd, 2026), wide receiver Breshad Perriman (26th, 2015) and cornerback Mike Hughes (30th, 2018).
Two of the last three defensive lineman drafted from UCF have been by the Cowboys, selecting Trysten Hill in 2019 while the San Francisco 49ers took Kalia Davis in 2022.
