Armour Secures CSC Academic All-America Second Team Honors

by Alex Clough

ORLANDO - Announced Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Communicators, junior Avah Armour has been tabbed to the CSC Academic All-America Second Team. Armour becomes the third Knight in program history to receive the honor, joining McKenna Melville (2020-22) and Jenny Heppert (2008).

While the Colorado native was one of four players to receive CSC Academic All-District honors, joining teammates Abby Schomers, Ella Chapman and Reaghan Thompson, Armour joins an elite group of 21 division one student-athletes to be named an All-American.

The Knight is joined by seven players on the second team and is one of just two athletes in the Big 12 (Rachel Van Gorp, Iowa State) to secure a spot on one of the three teams.

Armour’s historic season will long be documented in the record book, as this award joins multiple other honors that have recognized her prowess both on the court and in the classroom. Below is a list of Armour’s awards this season:

  • All-Big 12 First Team
  • Big 12 Scholar Athlete of the Year
  • AVCA All-America Honorable Mention
  • AVCA Southeast All-Region First Team
  • CSC Academic All-America Second Team
  • CSC Academic All-District Team

The junior attained a 3.94 GPA during the fall semester, pursuing a degree in finance while also leading the charge for UCF on the court during head coach Matt Botsford’s first season in charge.

Athletically, Armour posted career-best totals of 457 kills and 513 points, becoming the 12th player in program history to eclipse the 500-point milestone. A pivotal returner under first-year head coach Matt Botsford, the junior emerged as a cornerstone for a UCF squad that recorded the fourth-largest year-over-year RPI improvement in the nation, climbing 139 spots from 2024.

Armour elevated her play in conference action, finishing fourth in the Big 12 in points per set during league matches (3.75) while consistently delivering against top-tier competition. Her season-long average of 4.35 kills per set ranked seventh in the conference and 32nd nationally.

She recorded double-digit kills in 26 of 29 matches, including a stretch of 14 consecutive contests from Sept. 19 to Nov. 8. Among several career-high performances, her signature outing came in a five-set battle in her home state of Colorado, where she erupted for 30 kills and 34.5 points against the Buffaloes.

Armour registered five matches with at least 20 kills, highlighted by three straight performances against Houston (28), Texas Tech (27), and BYU (25), helping define a transformative season for the program. A complete player on both ends of the court, she also ranked second on the team in digs (208) and fifth in blocks (46), underscoring her impact beyond the attack.
