ORLANDO - The Texas Tech Sports Performance Center will serve as host for the 2025 Big 12 Indoor Championships in just under a month. This weekend, head coach Dana Boone and her squad will lace them up for the first time in Lubbock this season, competing at the Stan Scott Invite.
Regarded as one of the fastest tracks in the nation, the Knights have plenty of experience making the trip to Texas Tech, a former home for Boone from 2016-18 where she served as associate head coach for the women’s program.
UCF’s momentum has continued to grow through the early weeks of 2025, with last weekend’s performances at the Orange and Purple Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina, serving as the most evident results.

STARTING BLOCKS
- Senior Kiah Williams authored her strongest outing on the indoor track in her collegiate career at Clemson last week. After running a Big 12 400m lead with her new personal-best 52.69, the Miami native clocked a remarkable anchor split of 52.48 in the Knights’ 4x400m squad’s second-best performance in program history (3:34.29).
- After easing into the indoor campaign with a pair of promising marks in Louisville and Clemson, senior Natalia Madison is set to compete in her first pentathlon under first-year assistant Brody Honeycutt. Madison currently stands second in program history, 199 points behind former Knight and record-holder Brittany Floyd.
- Evident in the team’s 4x400m display last weekend, which leads the Big 12, the Knights are ranked fourth in the latest USTFCCCA 400m event squad rankings, trailing only Arkansas, Georgia and Duke. Transfers Twaneise Johnson (54.54) and Jazmen Newberry (55.02) have already tallied top-10 times in the program record books.

EVENTS TO WATCH
- Pentathlon (Thursday) - The aforementioned Madison made the early journey to Lubbock as the multis section will be the lone competition on Thursday afternoon. The Florida native will commence action with the 60m hurdles before lining up in the high jump, shot put, long jump and 800m.
- 60m Hurdles (Friday, Three Rounds) - Returning to the same track where she placed third in the hurdles a season ago at the Big 12 championships, Adaobi Tabugbo was just .01-second off her personal best (8.13) last week. She will also be joined by Ese Awusa who has continued to knock on the door of her own personal best (8.34).
- 200m (Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and 2:55 p.m. ET) - The most packed event of the weekend will see eight Knights embark on the 200m. Williams will highlight the field, making her season debut in the competition, while the likes of I’Asia Wilson and Jazmen Newberry could potentially tally strong outings of their own.
