JACKSONVILLE – The UCF track and field team closed out the UNF Invite with three podium finishes Saturday at Hodges Stadium.
"This is a very solid end to our regular season," UCF head coach Dana Boone said. "We had some personal bests this weekend, which shows we are continuing to trend in the right direction. We will take the next couple of weeks and gear up for the conference championship!"
Rayniah Jones advanced to the final of the 100-meter hurdles and ran a season-best 12.79 to place second in the event.
Adrienne Adams earned second in the discus as her second attempt of the afternoon landing at 175-7/53.53m.
Four Knights finished in the top 10 of the triple jump. Asherah Collins led the way, placing third with a mark of 41-4.25/12.61m. Natalia Madison jumped a personal best 40-8.75/12.41m to finish fourth. Jasmine Scott-Kilgo (40-4.75/12.31m) and Kiara Lee (40-2.25/12.25m) placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
All five Knights in the 400-meter dash finished in the top 20. Latasha Smith led the pack, placing fifth in 52.66. Kiah Williams ran a personal best 53.53 to finish seventh. Danielle Bess (54.63) finished 12th while Samieryah Bradwell's personal best 54.70 gave her 13th. Kai'lyn Kirkland finished 18th.
Katie Pinnell ran a season-best 2:07.42 to finish eighth in the 800-meter run. Kaliah Jones cleared 5-6/1.68m to finish seventh in the high jump.
For the second day in a row, Selena Wright ran a personal bet in the hurdles, this time with a 13.48 to place 10th.
Next up, UCF heads to Wichita, Kansas, for the 2022 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships May 13-15.
