Knights Set To Open Indoor Slate at Clemson

ORLANDO The UCF track and field team opens indoor action on Friday as the Knights head to South Carolina for the Clemson Invite.

The meet will stream on ACCNX on both Friday, January 14 beginning at 2 p.m. and Saturday, January 15 starting at 11 a.m. The Knights joins 10 other teams at the Clemson Track and Field Indoor Complex. In addition to the Tigers, Georgia, Florida ,Texas, Hampton, NC A&T, Kennesaw State, Richmond, Charleston Southern and FSU fill out the schools invited.
 


The Black and Gold open meet on Friday with Charlotte Crook in the 1000m at 2:10 p.m. Five Knights are slated to race in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles at 2:20 p.m. Returners Rayniah Jones and Selena Wright will be joined by Tamia Badal, Brittany Floyd and Kaylor Harris in the field.
 
Five Knights are included in the long jump field at 2:30 p.m. for Asherah Collins, Kiara Lee, Leiya Green, Jasmine Scott-Kilgo and Floyd. A pair of newcomers – Lillian Holtery and Camryn Williams – make their indoor debuts in the mile at 2:45 p.m.
 
Eight Knights – Danielle Bess, Harris, I'Asia Wilson, Green, Beyonce Defreitas, Jones, Ciara Holback and Ani Wells – race in the 60-meter prelims at 3:10 p.m. Jadae Barrett races in the 600-meter run at 3:40 p.m.
 
Ashlyn Green will make her UCF debut in the weight throw at 4 p.m. The 60H finals are also slated for 4 p.m. Latasha Smith, Samieryah Bradwell, Kai'lyn Kirkland and Kiah Williams represent the Knights in the 400-meter dash at 4:15 p.m. The 60m dash finals round out opening day action at 4:45 p.m.

Saturday action begins at 11 a.m. as Kaliah Jones, Holly Cassels and freshman Natalia Madison compete in the high jump. Track action begins with Smith, Bradwell, Bess, Wright, Williams and Badal in the 300-meter dash at noon.
 
Crook, Katie Pinnell, Cydni Turner and Barrett run the 800-meter at 12:50 p.m. UCF's field events conclude with the triple jump and shot put at 1 p.m. UCF's triple jump field includes Scott-Kilgo, Lee and Collins with Cassels and Floyd in the shot put. Madison is slated to compete in both.
 
The Black and Gold 200-meter dash field includes Rayniah Jones, Wilson, Holback, Defreitas and Wells at 1:15 p.m. Valerie Lastra will be joined by newcomers Isabella Babilonia, Rachel Wheatley and Brenna Mullaney in the 3000-meter run at 2:40 p.m.
 
UCF rounds out the weekend with the 4x4 at 3 p.m.
