Knights in Contention Following Round Two of NCAA Regionals

Orlando, Fla. – Through two days of the NCAA Louisville Regional, the UCF women's golf team sits eighth in the field of 18. The Black and Gold shot 289 (+1) as a team on Tuesday, ten strokes better than round one. In eighth place, the Knights are just three strokes away from sixth place – the cutoff for advancing to the NCAA National Championships.

"Super proud of our finish," said Emily Marron, after the Knights holed six birdies and an eagle on the last three holes of the day. "Our last two holes was a huge swing for us. We are in a good position and need to come out strong tomorrow to make a run at it."

The low six teams and the low three individuals from each regional will advance to the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championships, to be held at Grayhawk Golf Club, in Scottsdale, Arizona, May 21-26.

Through the first two rounds, senior Ana Laura Collado and sophomore Tunrada Piddon led the Knights. Both golfers carded even par rounds on the second day of the regional, after matching first rounds on Monday, shooting 145 (+1) heading into the last 18 holes. Collado and Piddon sit T16 on the leaderboard after 36 holes.

Freshman Camille Banzet improved on her first-round score with an even par round on Tuesday for a two-day score of 148 (+4). Banzet is T31 on the tournament leaderboard. Chinatsu Kobayashi also improved on day two, shooting five strokes lower than Monday, carding a 73 (+1).
