Men's Golf Gets Max O'Hagan

ORLANDO - UCF Men's Golf head coach Bryce Wallor announced on Thursday the signing of graduate transfer Max O'Hagan as a member of the 2020 class.

"We are extremely excited to add Max O'Hagan to the UCF program," said Wallor. "Max will gain a fifth year of eligibility as a graduate transfer for our program in the 2020-2021 season. Max will not only add to the talent on our roster, but he will bring the additional benefit of a player with four years of college experience under his belt. As we got to know Max and vetted him through our coaching community, we kept hearing the that he was a strong player who excelled in competitive situations."

Hailing from Surrey, England, O'Hagan comes to UCF from Florida Tech, where he was a four-year member of the Panthers' men's golf team. One of the most accomplished golfers in program history, O'Hagan is a three-time All-American, a two-time semifinalist for national player of the year and a two-time All-Sunshine State Conference selection.

As a freshman, Max had 16 par or better rounds and five top-10 finishes in 13 tournaments and was named a PING Honorable Mention All-American after helping guide Tech to a 5th place finish at the NCAA National Championship.

As a sophomore in 2017-18, Max earned First Team All-SSC, All-South Region and Second Team All-America honors while guiding Florida Tech to its first SSC Championship in program history. He had six top-10 finishes that year, including his first career win at the 2017 Cougar Invitational. He was ranked as high as No. 8 in the nation as a sophomore and named a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award, which is given to the top golfer in Division II.

In 2018-19, Max earned Third Team All-America, All-South Region and All-SSC honors and repeated as a Jack Nicklaus Award semifinalist after leading Florida Tech to the NCAA South/SE Regional. He picked up five top-10 results and finished in the top-3 three times during the campaign.

This past season, O'Hagan recorded five top-four finishes, including one tournament win, which came in recording-breaking fashion at the Matlock Collegiate Classic. O'Hagan shot three consecutive rounds in the 60's and set school-records for low 54-hole total and 54-hole score vs. par (-14). It was his second career tournament victory. O'Hagan was ranked as the No. 3 Division II player in the nation at the time the season was canceled. His current World Amateur Golf Ranking is 586.
