ORLANDO – The 2019 season is over for UCF, finishing with a third-straight year of 10 or more wins, and this past weekend, the 2019 regular season ended in the NFL.
There were 13 #BuiltByUCF Knights who saw action in week 17 of the NFL season, including Breshad Perriman and Tre'Quan Smith, who both scored touchdowns once again.
Perriman caught five passes for 134 yards and a score as the Tampa Bay Bucs fell to the Atlanta Falcons 28-22 in overtime. It marked Perriman's third-straight game with over 100 yards receiving and the third time in the final four games that he scored a touchdown.
Smith also caught five passes this past weekend, hauling in the five receptions in for 56 yards and one touchdown as the New Orleans Saints defeated the Carolina Panthers 42-10. Smith scored five touchdowns on the season, including three in the final four games of 2019.
Smith is one of six former UCF players that will play in the NFL playoffs this season. Teammate Latavius Murray joins him as the third-seeded Saints host Mike Hughes and the sixth-seeded Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at noon in an NFC wildcard game.
Seattle Seahawk teammates Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin are also back in the playoffs, heading on the road as the fifth seed to take on the fourth-seeded Philadelphia Eagles Sunday at 3:40 p.m. in the other NFC wildcard game.
Jordan Akins is the final Knight in the playoffs. His fourth-seeded Houston Texans host the fifth-seeded Buffalo Bills Saturday at 3:35 p.m. in an AFC Wildcard game.
