• The Owls have started the Carey era 5-2 with wins over Maryland, Georgia Tech and Memphis. Temple lost on the road at Buffalo and most recently at SMU, the team's first conference loss.
• Anthony Russo has thrown for 1,674 yards and 14 touchdowns with just six interceptions.
• Re'Mahn Davis and Jager Gardner have combined for 1,021 yards on the ground with nine total touchdowns between them.
ORLANDO'S HOMETOWN TEAM NOTE
awesome academics
• This past spring, UCF Athletics posted a department grade-point average of 3.24, the fifth highest in program history, which now gives UCF 11+ years and 23 straight semesters with a department average GPA of 3.0 or better.
• This spring, 64 percent of UCF's student-athletes posted a 3.0 or better, with 30 Knights posting a 4.0 GPA for the semester.
• The Knights' football team earned NCAA's Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition award this past spring for posting a multi-year score within the top 10 percent of all teams in the sport, the third time in the last four years the team has done so.
UCFAST NOTE
ak all the way
• Adrian Killins Jr. has made his mark on the UCF program with his blazing speed, earning all-conference honors the last two seasons in The American.
•Killins is second only to Greg McCrae (7.51) in UCF's record books with a 5.92 yards-per-carry average in his career. He is also fourth in school history with 31 total touchdowns, tied for sixth with 22 rushing touchdowns, and eighth with 2,165 career rushing yards.
• He has rushed for 335 yards and four scores, while catching five balls for 102 yards and a score in 2019.
UCFIERCE NOTE
terrorizing tfl numbers
• The UCF defense has been making it tough on offenses in 2019 with their ability to get pressure in the backfield.
• The Knights rank second in the nation with 9.3 tackles for loss per game, but it's been a team effort. Not a single UCF player has enough to even be ranked nationally.
• Linebackers Nate Evans and Eric Mitchell lead the way with 7.5 tackles for loss each.
DID YOU KNOW?
Gabriel Davis is tied for the national lead with 10 touchdown receptions this season. He is four away from tying and five away from breaking the UCF single-season record of 14 touchdown receptions, set by Bret Cooper in 1992.
