ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The start of the UCF football team's preseason camp is still a few days away, but camp for the National Football League is already underway with 23 former Knights reporting to 15 different NFL teams this week.
From 2017's undefeated squad, there are seven Knights in NFL camps. The four that heard their names called on Draft Weekend – Mike Hughes (Vikings), Tre'Quan Smith (Saints), Jordan Akins (Texans) and Shaquem Griffin (Seahawks) – as well as undrafted signees Aaron Evans (Eagles), Jordan Franks (Bengals) and Jamiyus Pittman (Dolphins).

Three former Knights, now veterans of the NFL, find themselves in new camps in 2018. In his 13th season, wide receiver Brandon Marshall joined the Seattle Seahawks in the offseason, 10-year vet Josh Sitton signed with the Miami Dolphins, and now in his eighth year, wide receiver Kamar Aiken recently became a member of the world champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Other veterans staying put in 2018 include quarterback Blake Bortles and All-Pro cornerback A.J. Bouye in Jacksonville, safety Clayton Geathers in Indianapolis, long snapper Charley Hughlett in Cleveland, linebacker Kemal Ishmael in Atlanta, running back Latavius Murray in Minnesota, wide receiver Breshad Perriman in Baltimore, kicker Matt Prater in Detroit, and cornerback Josh Robinson in Tampa Bay.
Second-year cornerback Shaquill Griffin is back in Seattle, recently joined by his brother, Marshall and T.J. Mutcherson for 2018 camp with the Seahawks. Justin McCray is also back in his second year with the Green Bay Packers, while D.J. Killings is with Aiken and Evans in Philadelphia after being a member of the Eagles' practice squad last season.
