AUBURN, Ala. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF track and field team turned in a record performance to open the 2018 War Eagle Invitational on Friday at Hutsell-Rosen Track.

She used a personal best to become the first Knight in program history to surpass the 200-foot mark in the event. Entering the weekend, Durant held a personal best of 195-11, which she set on March 30 at the Pepsi Florida Relays. Not only did she improve her mark by more than four feet, she also broke Chelsea Gobourne's school record of 198-1 by more than two feet.

Jhane' Carter joined Durant in the top 15 with a throw of 178-3/54.33m.

In the triple jump, Daneesha Davidson improved her personal best with a distance of 38-9/11.81m. Her first jump of the day was best distance by a Knight this season.

A pair of Knights improved their times in the 1,500-meter run. For the second meet in a row, Marissa Codispodi lowered her mark in the event, crossing the line in 4:39.72. Victoria Jung turned in a personal best time of 4:42.63 to finish ninth.
