BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team scored 33 points to finish eighth at the 2018 American Athletic Conference Indoor Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Knights added three points to UCF's total in the War On I-4 rivalry series, bringing its lead to 30-15. UCF edged South Florida in the final team standings, as the Bulls finished ninth.
Rosie Chamberlain turned in a season-best time of 2:06.58 to finish second in the 800-meter run. The senior has now earned a podium finish for three straight seasons and added eight points to UCF's score.
Natosha Jordan added five points to the team score, clearing 5-7 to finish fourth in the high jump. Shaniya Williams scored four points for the Knights, taking fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.47.
A season-best distance of 49-11.5 gave Jhane' Carter seventh place in the shot put, and added two points for the Knights.
UCF opens outdoor action on March 16-17, hosting the Black and Gold Challenge at the UCF Track and Field Complex.
