UCF-Austin Peay Postgame Notes

General

  • UCF captains: Sean Pratt, Jordan Johnson, Titus Davis, Joey Connors
  • Coin Toss: Austin Peay called heads, UCF won, elected to receive and defend south end zone.
  • Knights won the toss for the first time this season.
  • UCF broke the school record for points in a game, eclipsing the previous mark of 71 set against Gardner Webb on Sept. 5, 1992.
  • UCF has scored 50 points four times this season for the first time in program history.
  • The Black and Gold have scored 60-points in three games in a season for the first time ever.
  • The Knights scored a touchdown on offense, defense and special teams for the second time this year.
  • UCF totaled the second most points in FBS this season.

Offense

  • Taj McGowan has found the end zone in six of the Knights' seven games this year.
  • McGowan tallied his second multi-touchdown game of the season.
  • McKenzie Milton set a career high with 14 consecutive passes to start the game, falling one short of the school record set by Daunte Culpepper on Oct. 11, 1997.
  • Milton scored on the ground for the second time this season and fifth in his career.
  • Milton now has a touchdown pass in the last eight games.
  • The Knights tied the program record for points in a quarter with 31 in the second.
  • Dredrick Snelson's two touchdown receptions notched his first career multi-touchdown game.
  • Tre'Quan Smith's touchdown reception in the third was his ninth of the year. He is now tied with Breshad Perriman, Kamar Aiken, Mike Walker and Doug Gabriel for single-season touchdown receptions in ninth.
  • The Knights set a season high with 27 first downs.

Defense

  • Shaquem Griffin's 20-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown was the first one for the Knights since Drico Johnson scored against Tulane last season.
  • Pat Jasinski recorded his first career forced fumble and Griffin found the end zone for the first time in his career.
  • Titus Davis' interception in the second quarter was the first of his career.
  • Jasinski finished with 10 tackles for his second straight game with double-digit tackles

Special Teams

  • Mike Hughes' 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was the Knights' first since Adrian Killins, Jr. housed one at ECU last season.
  • The blocked PAT was the second blocked kick of the season for UCF and the second of A.J. Wooten's career.
  • Matthew Wright hit 10 PATs to break the school record.
  • The last time an opponent returned a kickoff for a touchdown against the Knights was on Sept. 23, 2011, against BYU.
