ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF head coach Becky Cramer has announced the addition of Rachael Klunder as an assistant coach and director of operations for the rowing team.
 
"I am thrilled to continue to work with Rachael Klunder in this new capacity," Cramer said. "She has an amazing talent to make things happen and get it done, both on and off the water, and she is going to be a huge addition to our staff. Her energy is infectious and I am excited to continue building on our successes with her."
 
A four-year member of the varsity squad at UCF, Klunder earned three conference championships and made three straight NCAA appearances as a Knight.
 
"I am so thankful for the opportunity to continue serving the team," Klunder said. "I am very passionate about UCF and its values both as a department and as an individual team. I am looking forward to beginning my career as a Knight, and can't wait to get the season going."

During her final season with the Black and Gold, Klunder rowed in the Second Varsity Eight that won its event at the American Athletic Conference Championship. Seeded 21st of 22 teams at NCAAs, Klunder pulled her boat into the C Final, finishing 18th overall.

As a junior in 2016, Klunder split time between the Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Eight boats. She was a member of the 2V8 that won its event at The American Championship and rowed in the two seat of the V8 that won the D Final at NCAAs.

In 2015, she was the bow of the Varsity Four that finished fourth at The American Championship and won the D Final at the NCAA Championship.

Klunder was named team captain prior to the 2016 season.

A native of Smithville, Ontario, she earned a human communications degree in May 2016. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in educational leadership.
