LEXINGTON, Ky. (UCFKnights.com) - It was a record-setting Saturday for UCF at one of the nation's premier early-season indoor track and field meets. Redshirt senior Anne-Marie Blaney cruised to a win in the 3,000-meter run.
UCF collected five top-10 finishes on the final day of the 2017 Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational inside Nutter Field House.
Blaney highlighted the day as she won the 3,000-meter run, setting a career-best and a school record in the process. Her winning time of 9:18.87 is the fourth fastest in the event this season.
Senior J'Nea Bellamy posted the third fastest time in the 60-meter dash prelims, at 7.42, to advance to the finals. Her prelim time lands at 36 on the qualifying list this season. Bellamy finished eighth in the finals with a time of 7.47.
Sophomore Briana Potter finished seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 38-06.75/11.75m. Redshirt sophomore Jhane' Carter earned her second top-10 finish of the season, as her 48-02.00/14.68m shot put gave her 10th place.
Junior Rosie Chamberlain earned an eighth-place finish in the mile run with a time of 4:58.11
The Knights return to action next weekend, heading to South Carolina for a two-day meet at Clemson.
