PRINCETON, N.J. (UCFKnights.com) – The Knights were on the water Sunday on Lake Carnegie for a fall competition at the Princeton Chase.
UCF notched its top finish at ninth place in the Varsity Four A, while the Varsity Eight A earned the 13th-best time. The Knights competed against a strong field, featuring Virginia, Brown, Princeton, Yale, Duke, Northeastern and Navy - all programs that lined up against the Knights at last year's NCAA Championship.
Going up against 27 entrants, the Varsity Four A finished inside the top 10 at ninth with a time of 17:22.954. The boat included Olivia Hecimovich, Zana Krakic, Marija Medelinskaite, Viktorija Senkute and Lauren Aiello. A 15th place finish was notched by the Varsity Four B, containing Ashley Martin, Ashleigh Boyd, Ivana Krkljus, Edvina Nesukaityte and Claudia Destefani.
The 13th-place Varsity Eight A boat consisted of Olivia Hecimovich, Ashleigh Boyd, Ivana Krkljus, Lauren Aiello, Zana Krakic, Marija Medelinskaite, Edvina Nesukaityte and Claudia Destefani. The group posted a time of 15:11.381 that was in the top third of the 59 boats entered.
The Knights also raced a Varsity Eight B and two more Varsity Four boats.
UCF is back in action on Friday with a scrimmage at Miami. The Knights conclude their fall slate with the Black and Gold Classic.
