THE TOSS

  • UCF won the toss and deferred; UConn elected to receive; UCF chose to defend the west end zone.
     

TEAM

  • With the win, the Knights have tied up the all-time series against the Huskies, 2-2.
  • UCF came back from a 13-0 deficit to win, making the first time since Oct. 9, 2014 that the Knights came back after trailing that much. UCF trailed BYU 24-10 in that game.
  • UCF put together their longest scoring drive of the season, going 93 yards midway through the second quarter.
     

OFFENSIVE NOTES

  • QB McKenzie Milton set career highs in passing yards (317) and touchdown passes (3).
    • First UCF quarterback to throw for over 300 yards since Justin Holman had 336 against Temple on Oct. 25, 2014.
    • Went 11-for-13 in the third quarter for 115 yards and a touchdown.
    • Completed a pass to 10 different receivers, including one to himself on a pass batted back into his arms.
  • WR Dredrick Snelson caught his first career touchdown on a 22-yard pass from Milton midway through the second quarter.
  • WR Taylor Oldham had four catches for a career-high 72 receiving yards.
    • Caught a career-long reception for 40 yards late in the first quarter.
  • TE Jordan Akins grabbed his second touchdown of the season and fourth of his career on a 19-yard pass from Milton on the final offensive play of the first half.
  • RB Adrian Killins caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from Milton early in the third quarter for his second of the season and to make it back-to-back games.
  • OL Chester Brown received his first career start against UConn.
     

DEFENSIVE NOTES

  • LB Shaquem Griffin led the Knights with a career-high 10 tackles.
  • LB Errol Clarke recorded his third sack of the season early in the third quarter.
     

SPECIAL TEAM NOTES

  • K Matthew Wright connected on a career-long 50-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter.
    • The last time a UCF player made a field goal of 50 or more yards was Shawn Moffitt against UConn on Oct. 26, 2013.
    • Extended his career-long streak of made extra points, making all three attempts to improve to 41-for-41 in his career.
